Therapy

Fleur Farish-Edwards (she/her)

Since qualifying as a therapist in 2014, I have worked with a wide range of young people and adults. Clients have come to therapy for a wide variety of reasons: anxiety, depression, grief and loss, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties and work-related issues.

Sometimes clients may come to therapy in response to a crisis in their life. Sometimes they may come to explore themselves for personal growth, or in order to make changes.

I have a particular interest in working with clients who experience chronic health conditions, who are neurodiverse, who have worked in education, and who are from the LGBTQ+ community.

I work in a person-centred way, using warmth and empathy to build a relationship with clients. I am also able to combine this with working creatively, using a variety of creative, therapeutic methods.

I have worked in a Women’s Centre and a hospice, as well as my own private practice. In addition to this, I work as a supervisor for other counsellors, and I am an experienced tutor in counselling and psychotherapy.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work to their ethical framework. I am also a member of the Association for Person-Centred Creative Arts (APCCA) and The Person-Centred Association (TPCA).

Therapy FAQs

Why should I have therapy?

Therapy can be beneficial to everyone. You don’t need to have experienced a life-changing event to benefit from a listening, non-judgemental ear.  It is up to you to decide when it is the right time, and I offer an initial 30-minute consultation free of charge, to see if we both feel we could work together

How can therapy help?

I firmly believe that you are the expert in your own life, and as a therapist, it is not my place to advise or direct you.  What I can do, is offer you the space to be truly heard. Together we can navigate through and make sense of what is going on for you. We will focus on what you want, go in the direction that you choose and at the pace that feels right for you.

How long will therapy last?

I have found some clients benefit from just 2 or 3 sessions. Other clients have worked with me for much longer and the majority are somewhere in between. Sessions are usually held weekly, for one hour, and we can continually review how it is going for you.

Where will therapy take place

I currently hold all therapy sessions online, usually on Zoom.

How much does it cost?

Therapy sessions cost £50 per hour.
